Photovoltaic Properties of BiFeO3/BaTiO3 Bilayered Thin Film

摘要
In the present work, the ferroelectric photovoltaic properties of bismuth ferrite (BFO)/barium titanate (BTO) bilayered thin film have been investigated. BFO/BTO bilayered tin film has been deposited on Pt/Ti/SiO2/Si substrate using sol gel spin-coating technique. The structural and optical properties of the prepared bilayer thin film have studied by using X-ray diffraction (XRD) and UV-Visible Spectroscopy (UV-Vis) respectively. PE hysteresis loop measurements were carried out in order to confirm the ferroelectric nature of BFO/BTO bilayer thin film. The ferroelectric photovoltaic properties of the BFO/BTO bilayered thin film were studied in metal-insulator-metal (MIM) configuration i.e., Au/BFO/BTO/Pt. BFO/BTO bilayer thin film was found to give one order change in the value of current when illuminated with 405 nm wavelength light (intensity = 60 mW). The short circuit photocurrent density and open circuit voltage were observed to be 2.76 mu A/cm(2) and 0.215 V respectively. The obtained results are encouraging and makes the prepared bilayer structure suitable for energy harvesting applications.
