This paper makes two main contributions: first it argues the case for a more proactive investigation into the potential of technology for enhancing the learning and teaching environment and secondly gives a number of examples with supporting student evaluations. The key contribution is to show several examples of how a little imagination and reflection on what and how to use technology can enable significant gains in the quality of student learning at relatively low cost in time, effort and expense to academic staff.
