Single-layer high-gain planar lens antenna based on the Focusing Gradient Meta-surface

摘要
A single-layer transmitting focusing gradient meta-surface (FGMS) has been designed, which is used in the application of the lens antenna. The element of FGMS is composed of two identical structures mounted on the top and bottom surface of one dielectric layer, which can achieve high transmitting efficiency and sufficient phase compensation in X band. The antennas are placed the focus of FGMS to develop a flat lens antenna system. The simulation results demonstrate that the lens achieves a gain of 16.9 dBi and achieves 8.9 dB higher than the bare patch antenna at 10 GHz.
