In this paper we discuss the existence of oscillations in a specific recurrent neural network the 3-node network with two weight parameters and one time delay Simple and practical criteria for fixing the range of the parameters in this network model are derived Computer simulations are used to show typical patterns and to point out that these criteria are only sufficient conditions for such oscillations to happen (C) 2010 Elsevier B V All rights reserved
