Cobalt additive for lowering the sintering temperature of yttria-stabilized zirconia

摘要
Co3O4 was used as the sintering aid for YSZ. For the particular YSZ powder used, the optimum level of additive was approximately 1 cat% Co. This level of additive reduced the sintering temperature by 120°C and maintained a conductivity equal to that of YSZ sintered at the higher temperature without additive.
