摘要
This present study aims to assess the engine performance and emission conditions with the advanced and delayed fuel injection timing. The various kinds of tests were conducted on a CI diesel engine by changing the injection timing (i.e. 4 degrees before and after the actual injection timing of 23 degrees bTDC) at different load conditions. Biodiesel blend was prepared with the blend ratio of 25% biodiesel and 75% diesel, then 100 ppm of alumina nanoparticles was added to run the diesel engine. The obtained results were compared with the actual running condition of the engine with diesel fuel at 200 bar injection pressure and 23 degrees bTDC injection timing. It was observed that with the 27 degrees bTDC injection timing, the performance of an engine was improved, but the exhaust gases, such as hydrocarbons, carbon monoxide, and smoke emissions, were decreased and nitrogen oxide emissions slightly increased compared with the plain diesel.
