摘要
Nitrogen oxides (NO(x)) contribute to the greenhouse effect (besides CO(2), CH(4) and H(2)O) and take part in photochemical reactions that lead to smog and acid rain formation. That is way their removal from emissions to the atmosphere is one of the most important environmental problems nowadays. One of the most efficient techniques for NO(x) abatement is the selective catalytic reduction of NO(x) by NH(3) (NH(3)-SCR). In this study the performance of reverse flow reactors (RFR, a fixed bed reactor in which the direction of the inlet flows is reversed periodically), is evaluated for NO(x) removal. Therefore, a mathematical model was developed in order to determine the optimal SCR operation conditions.
