摘要
In this paper, we present the transmission characteristics of a kind of chiral fiber gratings, in which the permittivity of a length of chiral fiber is periodically distributed in sinusoidal style. We expand the coupled mode theory for traditional waveguide to the form of suitable for analysis of mode coupling in chiral waveguide. The different filtering characteristics for RCP and LCP modes are investigated. It is concluded that the chirality may induce the separation for both modes as well as the profile of filtering characteristics with respect to the achiral case. The larger the chirality is the wider the RCP and LCP separate.
