摘要
We used Monte Carlo simulations to study optimal configuration of bremsstrahlung converter for photonuclear production of Mo-99. To account for details of bremsstrahlung photons production and energy dependency of photonuclear reaction cross section we introduced a new metric - the effective bremsstrahlung efficiency criterion. Monte Carlo simulations using PHITS transport code showed that converter optimization using this criterion allows to achieve 2-2.8% increase in Mo-99 production in a thick radioisotope producing target.
