摘要
Inductive power transfer (IPT) is a promising solution to replace the plug-in charging system for electric vehicles (EVs) owing to its safety and convenience. However, the efficiency and output stability of the IPT system will decrease when misalignment happens. In this work, a two-dimensional misalignment-tolerant IPT system based on a three-arm voltage doubler (VD) rectifier is proposed. When the receiver moves to different positions, receiver coils can transmit energy in three kinds of operation modes, i.e., transmitting power by three, two or one receiver coils. According to different receiver positions, the proposed system can automatically switch between three operating modes to obtain a constant voltage (CV) output even if the receiver moves in lateral and longitudinal directions simultaneously. A 1.6kW experiment setup is built. The experiment results show that, under the situation of different receiver positions and variable loads (40-80 ohm), the proposed IPT system can confine the output voltage variation within 5% when the receiver is located in a specific area, which occupies more than 72% of a square with a side length of 400mm. Besides, in this area, the system efficiency of the proposed IPT system is from 90.66% to 95.11%.
