摘要
High frequency mechanical impact (HFM1)treatment is a post-weld treatment method to increase the fatigue strength of welded notch details. Since 2019 there is published the german DASt-guideline 026 for new constructions, taking the effects of this post-weld treatment method into account in the design of steel structures Within several research projects it could be shown that this post-weld treatment method can also be applied on existing structures if certain restrictions are considered. This article summarizes the state of the art of the HFMIt-reatment method. In addition, explanations are given on the extent to which the HFMI-method can be taken into account in the fatigue design to crane runways in new constructions and on the advantages of the application in existing structures.
