Evaluation of the photocurrent for a mixture of 2D and 0D carriers

摘要
A novel structure which consists of a mixture of two- and zero-dimensional carriers in a quantum-dot infrared photodetector (QDIP) is proposed and considered theoretically. It is shown that the effect of mixture changes photoconductivity a lot from that of conventional QDIP alone, which can be attributed to the zero-dimensional behavior of density of states of carriers being added to the two-dimensional behavior.
