BSCCO/SrTiO3 One Dimensional Superconducting Photonic Crystal for Many Applications

Based on the transfer matrix method (TMM), we introduce a theoretical study of the transmittance properties of a one dimensional superconductor dielectric photonic crystal (PC). We focus on the so-called cutoff frequency where the implementation of this feature can be useful in using PC as a good reflector besides other applications. Furthermore, we have discussed the effect of temperature on the position of the cutoff frequency inside the band structure. The results show that the cutoff frequency is very sensitive to the temperature variation and that the photonic band gab can be tuned by varying the system temperature.
