Sintering behavior of additive free (pure) lead metaniobate ceramics

摘要
Studies on lead metaniobate powders were carried out in order to obtain defect free microstructure, with fully ferroelectric phase. Different cooling conditions and thermal behavior of lead metaniobate powders were also investigated. It was observed that in order to obtain the ferroelectric phase, fast cooling is necessary. Samples cooled from 1300degreesC/1h to room temperature had fewer microcracks than the ones cooled in two-step cooling. DTA studies also showed that rhombohedral to tetragonal, transformation happens regardless of the phase. type of the initial powder.
