Recent advances in the drug treatment of schizophrenia

摘要：
The drug treatment of schizophrenia is considered under four headings: treatment of the first acute episode, treatment of further acute episodes, maintenance treatment and management of the 'drug-resistant' patient. The introduction of 'atypical' antipsychotics into clinical practice has changed the treatment options. A possible algorithm for the drug treatment of Schizophrenia is suggested.
