Density (p), viscosity (n) and speed of sound (it) values are measured for the binary mixtures of 2-chloroaniline with isomeric butanols (1-butanol, 2-butanol, 2-methyl-1 -propanol and 2-methyl-2-propanol) over the entire range of mole fraction at temperatures T = (303.15 to 318.15) K. Using the experimental data, the excess molar volume (14.,), excess isentropic compressibility (4), deviation in viscosity (A) and excess Gibbs free energy of activation of viscous flow (AG* E) values have been calculated. All the investigated systems exhibit negative values of vErn and kf; and positive values of An and AG* rover the entire composition range. The calculated excess properties are discussed in terms of molecular interactions between present investigated binary mixtures. These excess functions have also been correlated using Redlich-Kister type polynomial equation. The formation of hydrogen bond in the equimolar binary mixture systems is identified by the experimental FT-I1Z values. C 2014 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
