摘要
Two-phase flows of gas and particles are often encountered in the transport system of pipelines in various industrial applications. A brake valve is usually employed to control the transport process of two-phase flows. In case fine solid particles collide with the valve system or the wall surface of pipeline, surface erosion occurs, which affects the performance of the valve as well as its durability, leading to the deterioration of the efficiency of transport system. In the present study, experimental study has been made for the purpose of optimization of the brake valve under the two-phase flow of gas and particles. A model brake valve has been fabricated and its valve opening degree, the particle diameter, and the particle mass flow rate were varied to investigate the partide-gas flows through the valve and the resulting erosion characteristics. Particle accumulation layers along wall surface were also observed and discussed in detail. (C) 2020 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
