摘要
A middle-aged, asymptomatic woman with a medical history of Bartter syndrome and chronic kidney disease presented to the ambulatory clinic for a routine outpatient colonoscopy. The nurse practitioner ordered a resting 12-lead electrocardiogram to screen for prolongation of the corrected QT (QTc) interval, associated with increased risk for arrhythmia. The patient was in normal sinus rhythm at 77 beats/min. The QTc was 426 milliseconds. Notched P waves and a negative P terminal force in lead V-1 were present. Because the QTc interval was normal, the colonoscopy was completed, and no complications occurred. The patient was referred to cardiology for a consultation. (C) 2019 Elsevier Inc.
