摘要
The effects of melt-quenching rates on the hydrogen storage properties of Ti-28V-15Mn-10Cr alloy were investigated. It was found that melt-quenching is effective in improving the plateau characteristics and increasing the effective hydrogen capacities, while it makes the activation of the alloy more difficult, which could be attributed to the thicker oxide layer formed on the quenched sample surface. With the increase of the melt-quenching rates, the lattice parameter a of the alloy increases, which results in the decrease of the hydrogen desorption plateau pressure. The hydrogen desorption capacity of 2.45wt% was obtained for this alloy with a melt-quenching rate of 20ms(-1). (C) 2003 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
