摘要：
An overview of shape, synthesis and properties of carbon nanotubes is presented as a resource for teaching and learning involving nanotechnology. Selected properties with examples of practical applications of carbon nanotubes discussed include mechanical, electrical, optical, thermal, biological, gas absorption and detection, hydrophobic, and water purification, etc. Health and environmental concerns of carbon'nanotubes are also addressed in this paper.
