摘要
BACKGROUND: Increase in cardiac workload for a strenuous exercise may result in a transient impairment in cardiac function. The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of taurine supplementation on exercise induced cardiac fatigue (ECIF) following different intensity circuit resistance exercise in healthy untrained men. METHODS: Forty untrained college-age men randomly were divided into four groups: (taurine+80% 1RM, N.=10), (taurine+65%1RM, N.=10) and (placebo+80% 1RM, N.=10), (placebo+65%1RM, N.=10) groups. 20 subjects who received taurine supplementation 500 mg three times a day for 2 weeks and then 20 subjects (in two groups) received placebo (starch) and performed circuit resistance exercise with 3 sets (80% 1RM, 6-7 repetitions) and (65% 1RM, 9-10 repetitions). 10 mL blood sample was taken at immediately, 2 and 24 hours postexercise. RESULTS: The results showed that taurine concentration decreased in response to the 80% and 65% 1RM circuit resistance exercise in taurine groups significantly (P <= 0.0005). Serum cTnI was increased between immediately postexercise (IP) and 2h stages with base stage significantly (P <= 0.01). Also, serum cTnT increased between IP and 2h stages with base stage (P <= 0.001). CONCLUSIONS: The results of the study showed that cTnT was increased following high intensity circuit resistance exercise, whilst no such change in cTnI was observed. Also, taurine supplementation utilization to cause or prevented to appearance of cardiac damage biomarkers. Therefore, troponins are normally considered a sensitive and specific index of ECIF.
