An Analysis of the Implementation of the Concept of Sustainable Ecological and Economic Development of the Russian Federation

The most important task in the current economic situation in Russia is GPD doubling. Taking into consideration the priorities in the development of the world community in the third millennium provided in the UN reports on poverty reduction, environment enhancement, sustainable development, etc., the objective should be focused on sustainable social and economic development. In this regard, the quantitative measurement of the sustainability of the development, the balance of quantitative and qualitative factors of the economic growth are of immediate interest. The authors analyzed the current ecological and economic security of Russia, assessed the ecological and economic situation, studied threats to the ecological and economic security of the Russian Federation, analyzed the introduction of environmental indices into the system of the assessment of the socioeconomic development and economic security of the Russian Federation. Some proposals were worked out to increase the level of environmental and economic security by improving the mechanisms of environmental and economic incentives, as well as the management system of environmental and economic development. The process of creating an ecopolis as a model of sustainable ecological and economic development of an area was studied.
