No Political Sense of Theocracy. On Jacob Taubes' and Gershom Scholem's Interpretations of Walter Benjamin

In his Theological-Political Fragment, Walter Benjamin characterizes the rejection of a political sense of theocracy to be Ernst Bloch's greatest achievement. Jacob Taubes and Gershom Scholem have traced this determination to quite different foundations. Investigating these lines of justification, this paper finally shows a hitherto unrealised proximity between Benjamin and Bloch.
