摘要
Multilevel inverter is a brilliant topological scheme for DC to AC conversion. Multilevel inverter blends desired voltage wave profile from numerous levels of DC voltages. Multilevel inverter has many inherent problems due to usage of higher number of semiconductor switches. This may leads excess system size and price of the inverter also increases. The increased complexity of the controlling circuits also creates problem. Complex control algorithm needs to be worked out to optimise the operation. The objective of this discussion is to work for a modified design of multilevel inverter by optimising the number of switches used in a particular multilevel inverter without affecting the performance of the system and its suitability to high power application.
