摘要
Our study comprises 548 patients on which both transvaginal ultrasonography and hysteroscopy were performed over one year. Our main goal was to evaluate the efficacy of the mentioned techniques in the diagnosis of an intrauterine pathology. Our results show that both medical tests have a high percentage of coincidences in the diagnosis (78.81%). In 31.20% of the patients, even normal ultrasound and hysteroscopy were obtained. Moreover, 39.61% showed thicker endometrium in the scan which was confirmed to be related to intrauterine pathology with the hysteroscopy. In relation to patients with endometrial hyperplasia (considered as normal hysteroscopy in study), they presented, in most of the cases (73.85%) an altered ultrasound. Transvaginal ultrasonography can be used as a first option due to its high sensibility and high chances of dismissing an intrauterine pathology. However, the study should be completed with hysteroscopy which is the gold standard for the detection of intrauterine pathologies.
