Design and Development of Dynamic Mobile Adhoc e-learning System

The popularity of wireless communication systems can be seen almost everywhere in the form of Wireless Personal Area Networks(WPAN), and Wireless Local Area Networks(WLAN). Exploring these communication systems along with mobility in an e-learning environment provides anytime and anywhere education, which is still in nascent stage due to the divergent characteristics of wireless communication devices. This paper proposes a dynamic mobile adhoc e-learning system, which enables divergent wireless communication devices to support mobile adhoc network learning environment that requires minimum physical infrastructure. This proposed system aims to support and enhance students learning in the form of online, virtual and collaborative learning environment. This work also provides mechanisms to establish a virtual learning environment with the students located around a certain distance to form a mobile adhoc network and to share their knowledge. This proposed work is implemented as a pilot project in Periyar Maniammai University, Thanjavur, India and results shows that technology has added new dimensions to teaching-learning.
