摘要
Internal stress in the steady state creep of the long range ordered beta brass Cu50Zn was extensively investigated in a temperature interval from 523 K to 773 K, This interval exceeds the temperature interval of the stability of the long range ordered phase of the alloy. Internal stress was determined using the strain transient dip test technique based on an analysis of the strain response to sudden applied stress reductions performed in the steady state creep. In the long range ordered state of the alloy, the internal stress is up two orders of magnitude greater than the internal stress in the non-ordered alloy. The internal stress in ordered state does not depend on the applied stress, but its temperature dependence is very strong. Possible mechanisms determining the internal stress in the alloy investigated are discussed.
