摘要
Aluminum (Al) powder was placed on the zinc oxide (ZnO) ceramic bar (I mmx1 mmx15 mm). When a certain current flowed through the bar, a cluster of ZnO crystals grew on the Al powder. The diameter and length of the cluster were about 0.5 and 2.0 mm, respectively. It was found that the cluster grew under current densities of 70 - 100 A/cm(2) and oxygen partial pressures of 10 - 20 kPa. By the measurement of photoluminescence (PL), a well-known visible emission and an ultraviolet (UV) emission near the band edge region were observed around the bottom of the cluster of ZnO crystals. In contrast, the UV emission dominated the spectra at the top of the cluster.
