In fluorozirconate glasses the luminescence yield of Er-2(3+) ions on the I-4(13/2)-I-4(15/2) lasing transition was increased more than tenfold by additional doping with Yb3+ and Tb3+ ions. (C) 1998 American Institute of Physics. [S1063-7850(98)01505-5].
