摘要
In this paper, the interesting case of two overlapping resonances which occur in the F + H-2 reaction is revisited emphasizing the role of the total angular momentum. We show that molecular rotations of the triatomic collision complex are responsible for the alignment of a short-lived compound state, localized in the transition state region of the potential energy surface, with an exit-channel van der Waals metastable state. The changes induced by the total angular momentum on both positions and lifetimes make the resonances to interfere and produce quantum oscillating structures in integral and differential cross-sections.
