摘要
Detoxification of aflatoxins in the poultry mixed feed naturally contaminated at the level of 775 25 ppb was done using chemicals, viz. sodium bisulfite (NaHSO3) and sodium hydroxide (NaOH). These animals at different levels (0.25, 0.5, 1.0 and 2.0%) were used to treat the contaminated poultry feed at 3 moisture levels (10, 15 and 20%). The treated feed samples were screened for aflatoxins after 24 hr, 10 days and 1 month by pressure mini column. Sodium bisulfite at 0.5% and sodium hydroxide at 2.0% concentration, at 20% moisture level could detoxify the aflatoxins to bring the level below the tolerance level of 30 ppb set by Government of India under the Prevention of Food Adulteration Act.
