摘要
Cs3CdH5 and its deuteride have been prepared by reacting mixtures of caesium hydride (deuteride) and cadmium metal powder at 650 K under 200 bar hydrogen (deuterium) pressure. The samples were characterised by X-ray and neutron powder diffraction at room temperature. Cs3CdH5 crystallises with the Cs3CoCl5 structure type, space group I4/mcm, Z=4, cell parameters a=8.4359(6), c=12.6136(1) Angstrom (hydride), a=8.4235(7), c=12.592(1) Angstrom (deuteride) and contains tetrahedral [CdH4](2-) complexes with Cd-H bond distances of 1.82(1) Angstrom, and octahedrally co-ordinated hydride anions with an average H-Cs distance of 3.11 Angstrom.
