摘要
Erosion enhanced corrosion of 304 stainless steel was studied by single particle impingement. Velocities of the particles before and after impact were measured by a high speed camera. Impact and rebound dynamics of particles were used as a benchmark in analyzing the difference in the magnitude of current transients that were caused by passive film breakdown. Friction force and the effective path in which it acts on the surface showed significant influence on the extent of depassivation of the surface; however, the pre-impact angular velocity of the particles did not show a significant influence on the magnitude of current transients.
