Economic information and documentation, basis for building a national program to increase competitiveness of Romanian enterprises

The article approaches essential aspects of the theory and practice of scientific and technical information and documentation, a preliminary stage of research, and, simultaneously, a final stage of scientific results' communication and dissemination. The authors review the context of the field's specific literature and present the state of facts in Romania which is faced with the necessity to go through the development stages of the field at accelerated speed in order to close the gap with the developed countries.
