摘要
In this paper, we propose a novel microstrip-to-waveguide transition where a tramped antenna is utilized to reach the transmission characters of ultra-wide band and end-fire radiation. With such a new excitation scheme, compact design and low cost manufacturing can be obtained without multi-layer substrates or waveguide sidewall slits. Under mechanical alignment, the so designed UWB antenna coupled with microstrip-to-waveguide connector can obtain a return loss less than -10dB, VSWR less than 1.8 within the band (6GHz similar to 50GHz).
