摘要
The establishment of simulation method for blood glucose regulation and actions of anti-diabetic drugs in vivo should be very helpful for providing physicians with a basis for drug selection as well as for efficient development of anti-diabetic drugs. By combination of experimental science and mathematical science, we have established the new blood glucose regulation model which is applicable to simulation in vivo of actions of sulfonylureas, the most commonly used anti-diabetic drug in the world. Based on this "KOBE MODEL", we have found different sulfonylureas have distinct effects on extrapancreatic tissues as well as pancreatic beta-cells in vivo. In addition, we have evaluated various metabolic status in rodent diabetic models. KOBE MODEL is useful for simulation of blood glucose regulation and sulfonylurea actions and for evaluation and/or prediction of the metabolic status of diabetes.
