Beam-Scanning Leaky-Wave Antenna Based on Dielectric Image-Line for Millimetre-Wave Applications

摘要
A beam scanning leaky-wave antenna based on dielectric image lines (DILs) and planar feeding is proposed in this paper. The predominant mode of DIL is perturbed by periodic perforations in the DIL and space harmonics of the fast wave are generated. The proposed antenna is optimised for V-band (50-68 GHz) with a scan range of 70.19 degrees (-42.49 degrees to 27.7 degrees), impedance bandwidth of 15 GHz (50-65 GHz) and optimum gain ranging from 13 to 17 dBi in the fast-wave area, as well as the efficiency of 83.8% at 58.5 GHz.
