Acid-base equilibrium of Bengal Rose B in micellar solutions of anionic surfactants

摘要
The apparent stepwise ionization constants of Bengal Rose B hydroxyxanthene anionic dye fixed in micelles of anionic surfactants and in mixed micelles of anionic and nonionic surfactants are determined. The tautomeric equilibrium of the dye is considered. The ionization constants in the micellar phase are compared with those in aqueous-organic solutions.
