摘要
Silver-ion conducting, chloride substituted AgI, AgI1-xClx, prepared by low temperature co-precipitation route was employed to study chlorine and iodine sensing. Also, understanding the solubility limit of Cl- in AgI by employing various physicochemical techniques are discussed in this paper. Sensing of iodine and chlorine down to mu l.l(-1) (ppm) and nl.l(-1) (ppb) levels respectively were elucidated for AgI1-xClx (x = 0 to 0.05). Improving the sensing characteristics by miniaturising the sensor configuration and the testing of this miniaturised sensor towards chlorine sensing is presented.
