摘要
Several works have been reported for lead(II) complexes where the tetrel bonding interactions are used as robust tools in supramolecular chemistry and crystal engineering. This review focuses light on the tetrel bonding interactions in the solid state structure of various lead(II) complexes with hydrazine based bis-pyridine Schiff base ligands. Synthetic and structural aspects of the complexes are also highlighted to have a good understanding of the topic. The hemidirectional nature of lead(II) center and formation of sigma holes (i.e., positive electrostatic potential along the sigma skeleton in MEP diagram) are the basic reason of such tetrel bonding interactuions. Different tetrel bonding interactions like PbMIDLINE HORIZONTAL ELLIPSISO/S/N/Cl/Br/I lead to the formation of of 1D/2D/3D supramolecular assemblies.
