摘要
Functionalization of nanoparticles to textiles produces finishing fabrics for advanced applications. Meanwhile, these treatments might unexpectedly alter some other material properties. In this study, mechanical characteristics of the functionalized cotton fabrics with N-doped TiO2 nanoparticles were investigated. First, the nanoparticles were synthesized by in-situ sol-gel process. Then, the particles were coated over the textiles. Tensile tests and microscopic examinations were conducted on the samples under dry, wet and UV conditions at three different elongation rates. The obtained results reveal that tensile behavior under tension is greatly influenced by constitutes structure of the fabrics, elongation rate and environmental conditions.
