摘要
With the acceleration of the marketization process of higher education, the private higher education has become an indispensable and important part of the education sector. The construction and improvement of governance structure of private colleges plays an increasingly crucial role to the balance of education system. This study analyzes three kinds of typical private universities governance structure in several main developed countries, which are the governance structure of American university board, academic authority patterns in Germany, Britain and France, and the executive appointed mode of Nihon University respectively. The establishment of private college governance mechanisms can help to resolve many complex problems in the education policy, education theory and education practice. Finally, this paper explores an appropriate road of governance structure for Chinese private colleges which provides a new perspective for the development of the private higher education.
