摘要
This paper presents the field computation and the operating characteristics of a series-connected self-excited synchronous generator. Modeling for time-stepping coupled field-circuit analysis is explained. A detailed study on the self-excitation phenomenon and load performance is presented. The proposed analysis is vigorously tested on a three-phase, 1.8-kW slip-ring induction machine for various operating conditions. The computed results obtained by the FEA are found to be in good agreement with experimental results.
