Hydrogenation of silicon tetrachloride to trichlorosilane over activated carbon-supported cobalt catalysts

摘要
A series of activated carbon-supported Co (Co/AC) catalysts were prepared by impregnation method, and characterized by N-2 physisorption, X-ray diffraction, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, and H-2 temperature-programmed reduction. The results reveal that the Co oxides-activated carbon interaction plays an important role in the CoO dispersion. These Co/AC catalysts were applied to hydrogenation of SiCl4 to produce SiHCl3, and the catalytic results demonstrate that Co(2.0)/AC catalyst shows a high catalytic activity with 13.8 % SiHCl3 yield at 750 A degrees C and exhibits good stability, which the catalytic activity maintains at least 100 h at 600 A degrees C and 30 h at 750 A degrees C.
