摘要
Cellulose is a major constituent of atmospheric aerosols that has so far been very little studied. This paper compiles information from recent literature regarding analytical methodologies and monitoring campaigns in different indoor and outdoor environments, discusses the use of this biopolymer as a tracer to estimate the contribution of plant debris to the carbonaceous aerosol and outlines the major open questions that should be the target of investigation in the future to fill the many remaining gaps.
