摘要
Single-phase fifteen level and sixty three level modular multilevel inverter with reduced number of power electronic switches for solar photovoltaic application is presented. Modular Multilevel Converter (MMC) is used in designing both control and power circuits to provide the corresponding output voltage levels by suitable switching sequences. To achieve 15-level inverter, the conventional method requires 28 switches and in binary mode 12 switches are needed. In Existing MMC 7 switches and 3 Sources are employed to achieve 15 levels. In proposed system with only 9 switches and 5 sources are employed to achieve 63 levels output voltages with decreased Total Harmonic Distortion. The simulation of fifteen level and sixty three level modular multilevel inverter is done using MATLAB and Total Harmonic Distortion is Analysed for both the inverters.
