摘要
The QoS and capacity of Voice over Wireless Local Area Networks (VoWLAN) is becoming an obstacle for network planners. In this paper, we proposed and validated an improved Markov analytical model to study the performance of WLAN. A novel method to analyze the delay was further developed with the M/G/1 queuing model. Based on the mentioned model, we analyzed the 802.11e-based VoWLAN and found the paradox of low bandwidth usage and high blocking rate. Moreover, a joint optimized solution to this problem was brought forward. The solution consisted of two parts: Device Differentiation Configuration and Queue-tail Aggregation. The effects of the proposed approach were demonstrated through extensive simulations. The results were very promising: the number of sustainable two-way VoWLAN connection was improved from 5 to 19.
