摘要
This paper describes a solution for the optimization of Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) based mobility over IPv6 in an 802.11b network as well as its theoretical evaluation and actual performance. Time necessary for a complete handoff depends on multiple factors. In this paper we focus on the delay accumulated during movement detection and try to bring it to a minimum using upward propagation of events generated by a Layer 2 entity. This allows us to speed up handoffs and get closer to a mobility solution applicable in "real-world" communications. We are using SIP both as a communications signalling protocol and as a means of handling application layer terminal mobility.
