Bagasse particleboards for building purpose

One of the most important particleboards consumer is the building industry. A wide variety of these products are been used successfully for low-cost housing, residential buildings, schools, offices and administration-buildings, etc. In this field, synthetic resin type and inorganic bonded boards are included. The present paper shows the experiences gained in the Cuban Research Institute for Sugar Cane By-Products (ICIDCA) in researches carried out on particleboard technologies for building purpose by using bagasse sugar cane as lignocellulosic raw material. This fact is very important for countries without abundant forest resources but which have surplus of bagasse like Cuba.
