摘要
Static capacity of bearings have traditionally been determined based on allowable contact stresses, fatigue life or deflections. The present study additionally considers stresses evolving from ellipse truncation as a parameter to determine the static capacity for slewing bearings. An analytical simulation have been prepared based on previous literature; and stresses from ellipse truncation have been calculated based on empirical equations. The static capacity may be defined either in terms of maximum stress from ellipse truncation or value of ellipse truncation. This approach allows quick calculation for static capacity, and allows for a larger static capacity compared to previous methods
